Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Chair
Denise Renee Poindexter is an advocate for women- in the home, at work, and in the community. She believes in recognizing the dynamic, multi-faceted experiences of others and cultivating spaces where everyone can show up authentically.
Moving to Champaign, Illinois in 2010 she immediately desired to build meaningful connections and establish a network outside of work, volunteerism became a saving grace. Through her bold and charismatic energy, she began dedicating her spare time to local non-profit organizations in the Champaign-Urbana community. Her care of others, drive to exceed goals and enjoyment of making friends quickly propelled Denise to more leadership roles and made her a proud 2016 recipient of Central Illinois Business Magazine’s Forty Under 40.
Professionally, Denise serves as the Director of Executive Search at AMN Healthcare where she oversees the operations and development of executive recruitment and talent acquisition services to health systems across the country. To continue to inspire and influence others to dream big, she founded The Girlfriend Career Consultant, LLC to educate, equip, and encourage women to unlock their full potential and explore careers that align with natural talents.
Denise holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from Arkansas State University and a Master of Public Administration from Troy University.
