Beverley Baker is a dedicated community leader and nonprofit professional based in Savoy, Illinois. Committed to improving quality of life for individuals and families, she has built her career strengthening connections between organizations, resources, and the people they serve. She considers herself a problem solver and “dot connector” and has been a member of the United Way team since 2007 earning the role of President & CEO in 2026.
Beverley is known for her strategic vision, collaborative leadership style, and passion for advancing equitable outcomes. She has extensive experience working with local agencies, civic partners, and volunteers to address critical needs, develop innovative programs, and drive measurable impact. Her work reflects a strong belief in partnerships and data-informed decision-making to create lasting change. Beverley is deeply invested in her community’s well-being and future. Whether convening stakeholders, advocating for vulnerable populations, or supporting initiatives that promote health, education, and financial stability, she brings both heart and expertise to her work.
Beverley is a summa cum laude graduate of St. Ambrose University with a degree in Elementary Education, along with minors in Psychology and early childhood education, and additional coursework in leadership and human resource management. Her professional background includes 15 years as an early childhood educator and childcare center director, 23 years in grant management, and a long history of collaborating with community leaders, organizations, and business representatives in Champaign County, Illinois, as well as in Iowa and Indiana.
She has received numerous honors, including Central Illinois Business Magazine’s 40 Under 40 Woman of the Year, WILL’s Children’s Champion Award, and the Junior League’s Living Legendary Award. Outside of her professional work, Beverley enjoys spending time with family and remains actively engaged in efforts that strengthen her community. She and her husband, Dan, are the proud parents of two sons, Grant and Cameron, and enjoy sporting events and family vacations together.
