Books help kids imagine places they want to go, things they want to do, and people they want to become. Plus, books can help kids become strong readers which translates into academic success.

Having books at home or being read to every day builds strong reading skills. But not all kids have access to these opportunities. Three in five families who struggle to make ends meet have no age-appropriate books in their homes for their children.

Many kids rely on their classroom or school library for access to books, but together we can change the story!

The Booking It Forward! Book Drive will help our students from PreK through 5th grade build their reading skills by providing free books for students to keep at home. All book donations will be distributed to literacy corners in local businesses across Champaign County.

Let's fill the home bookshelves of kids across our community!
