Unmet Needs Analysis

While a majority of 2-1-1 callers find help, sometimes our community does not have services to meet all needs, or 2-1-1 is not aware of services. 2-1-1 provides United Way with a comprehensive unmet needs analysis. Of the 547 calls to 2-1-1 in Q4, 120 (22%) of the callers were unable to find a service locally to meet their need. This is down from Q3 2016, when 29% of callers were unable to find a service to meet their need. United Way is using this report to track the needs in our community that are most pressing and work with local partners and lawmakers to improve the 2-1-1 database and close the gap in available services.

For Q4 2016, the top three unmet needs in Champaign county were:

  • Rent Assistance
