The fourth quarter (Q4) 2016 report for 2-1-1 is now available for download. 2-1-1's call center, PATH, provides United Way with anonymous quarterly reports detailing the reasons callers reach out to 2-1-1. These reports contain valuable information on our community's pressing issues.
For Q4 2016, 2-1-1 recieved 547 calls from Champaign County residents.
The top three reasons callers dialed 2-1-1 were:
- Rent Assistance
- Homeless Shelter
- Utility Assistance
Unmet Needs Analysis
While a majority of 2-1-1 callers find help, sometimes our community does not have services to meet all needs, or 2-1-1 is not aware of services. 2-1-1 provides United Way with a comprehensive unmet needs analysis. Of the 547 calls to 2-1-1 in Q4, 120 (22%) of the callers were unable to find a service locally to meet their need. This is down from Q3 2016, when 29% of callers were unable to find a service to meet their need. United Way is using this report to track the needs in our community that are most pressing and work with local partners and lawmakers to improve the 2-1-1 database and close the gap in available services.
