That's the message over one hundred volunteers will share with Champaign and Urbana families on Thursday, September 14, 2017.
United Way, in partnership with CU Cradle 2 Career, the Champaign Community Coalition, and the Champaign and Urbana Police Departments will host a Walk As One event focused on increasing kindergarten readiness. This event is United Way's Campaign Kickoff!
A United Way study shows that 33% of local kids are not fully prepared on the first day of Kindergarten.
Volunteers will go door-to-door in select neighborhoods in Champaign and Urbana handing out Getting Ready for Kindergarten Kits.
The kits are filled with books, markers, crayons, parent resources and the Getting Ready for Kindergarten Calendar. In one evening we will distribute 500 kits!
United we fight for all kids in our community to have an equal start in school!
