We know that the power of women is boundless and when people come together to connect with women and girls, powerful relationships are made. Even people who are not mentorship experts, know that it is something that can benefit others.
United Way's 97th Annual Meeting was held virtually on February 25, 2021. Prior to COVID-19, our organization would host a large luncheon and awards celebration after the Annual Meeting, with hundreds of guests. We missed seeing our United Way friends!
Coronavirus has changed how we interact with each other - including volunteerism. While in-person volunteering may be limited at this time, there are still ways that you can support your community. Now more than ever, it's important to reach out. We may be socially distant, but that does not mean isolated!

Every two years United Way's Community Impact Fund accepts grant applications from local programs. This process is led by the volunteers on our Community Impact Committee and Board of Directors. But they can't do it alone - we need your help.
We are seeking 100 volunteers committed to United Way's goal of improving Health, Education, and Financial Stability in Champaign County to serve as Grant Review volunteers! This is one of the most critical volunteer roles at United Way.
The C-U Men’s Shelter will operate from November 20, 2017 to March 31, 2018.
The shelter has a new home this year: New Covenant Fellowship Church, 124 W. White St, Champaign IL. It can shelter up to 30 men and will be open from 9:30pm to 8:00 am every day.
Tony Clements, past Board Chair and onetime Interim CEO of United Way of Champaign County, passed away on June 9, 2017. We are deeply saddened by our friend Tony’s passing, and our thoughts are with his loved ones. Tony supported United Way with his whole heart, and our organization is better because of his involvement.
We take the time at our Annual Meeting to honor our outgoing board officers and members. It's a great chance to tell them publicly how much their dedication to our work means.
The Spirit of Caring award is the highest honor presented by United Way of Champaign County. It honors individual volunteers, businesses and/or organization whose values and concerns for humankind are demonstrated through their leadership, service and commitment to the people of our County. In short - they make this an awesome place to live and work. We were proud to present three Spirit of Caring awards at our 92nd Annual Meeting on February 26, 2016.
